What are the criteria for application?
The International Masters Bursary is intended to provide additional financial support to International students who are self-driven, motivated and focused. Applicants should have already secured some level of funding for their studies.
Priority will be given to students who have faced some form of adversity (financial, health, circumstantial) or are exceptionally good candidates in need of additional financial help towards the costs study.
How many references should I provide?
There is no requirement for you to provide any references. Your application is all that will be used to make decisions about who receives the bursaries.
Where do I send my completed application?
This should be sent via email to studentships@reading.ac.uk, or in writing to Student Financial Support, Carrington Building, University of Reading, Whiteknights, Reading, RG6 6UA, UK.
How will I be selected?
A selection panel will consider all complete applications, and will decide which six students will receive the bursaries.
When will I know if I will receive a bursary?
All applicants will be informed of the outcome by Mid-August 2012, via email.
When will I be paid?
Payment will not be made until you have completed the enrolment process. You will then receive a payment of ￡2,500 in October and February, amounting to a total of ￡5,000. This money will be added to your student account towards your tuition fees. The bursary does not have to be repaid.
