How Much Will My Education Cost?
While we expect each student's family to play a leading role in financing a college education, we have a long tradition of fully meeting the USC-determined financial need for undergraduate students who satisfy all federal, state and university eligibility requirements and meet all published deadlines.

Estimated Cost of Attendance: 2017-2018
The USC estimated Cost of Attendance is an average figure used to determine your financial aid eligibility. It includes average amounts for standard expenses—including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, board and other living expenses for two semesters of study.
Keep in mind that your actual costs may differ. Additionally, estimated budgets for students in some majors may be higher because of special laboratory or studio supply fees, or other additional costs incurred by all students in the program. Tuition is charged at the same rate for both in-state and out-of-state residents.

What do I need to do if I am selected for Verification?
If your FAFSA was selected by the U.S. Department of Education for a review process called verification, your FAST page will indicate if you or your parents need to provide information for review. If your parents are indicated, the instructions below apply to each parent included in the household, as reported on your FAFSA.
Please obtain an IRS Tax Return Transcript(s) and submit a copy to the Financial Aid Office. Tax return transcripts may be uploaded on the Document Library section of FAST using 'IRS 2015 Tax Return Transcript - Parent' or 'IRS 2015 Tax Return Transcript - Student' as appropriate. Make sure to request the IRS Tax Return Transcript, not the IRS Tax Account Transcript.
An IRS Tax Return Transcript can be obtained:
ONLINE: Visit www.irs.gov. Under the Tools heading, click on "Get a tax transcript," then "Get Transcript by MAIL" or "Get Transcript ONLINE."
PHONE: Call 1-800-829-1040.
PAPER: Complete an IRS Form 4506-T, available at www.irs.gov, and submit it to the IRS as indicated on the form. Because the tax transcript will not include your USC ID number, DO NOT have it sent directly to USC. Have it sent to you so that you can upload a copy of it through FAST. On the form, check Box 6a "Return Transcript" to request the tax return transcript. Please make sure to complete all appropriate sections on the form to identify yourself, indicate the appropriate dates in Section 9, and sign the form, making sure to check the signature check box.
If you have never filed an IRS tax return, you will need to use the PAPER option above to obtain an IRS Verification of Non-Filing Letter.
This request for action will be removed once the Financial Aid Office reviews the submitted documentation.

How can I request an IRS Verification of Non-Filing letter?
You may be required to provide verification that you did not file a federal tax return as part of the federal verification process.
The following are instructions for students who have never filed taxes to complete the IRS form 4506-T in order to request a Verification of Non-Filing letter from the IRS.
The form is available at https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506t.pdf
Please use the following as a guideline to complete the paper form.
1a. Student's first and last name from their Social Security card
1b. Student's Social Security Number
2a. If applicable, spouse's first and last name from their Social Security card
2b. If applicable, spouse's Social Security number
3. Current name of student and address, city, state and zip code. This is the address where the IRS will send the verification letter
4. Leave blank
5. Leave blank. Do not have the letter sent directly to USC. Instead, have it sent directly to you and upload a copy through FAST

7. Check box 7 to request the IRS Non-Filing Verification letter

9. Use December 31, 2015 to request the Verification letter for the correct tax filing period

What is a 10-digit USC ID number? How do I get one?
Your USC ID number is assigned to you after we have received, processed and loaded your application into our database. This 10-digit number allows us to process your materials more efficiently, and it will become your student ID number if you are admitted. You should receive a confirmation email with your 10-digit USC ID number within three to four days of submitting your application.
The USC ID number is not the same as the CAS ID assigned when you begin your graduate application and shown in the top right-hand corner of your application.
IMPORTANT: If you have previously enrolled at or applied to USC, or if you are a USC employee, please be sure to include your USC ID number in the appropriate application field. This will help prevent the creation of a duplicate file, which can cause considerable delays in the processing of your application.

How do I submit my Enrollment Commitment Deposit?
Admitted undergraduate applicants should visit youSC to submit the $300 commitment deposit online. First-year students admitted to the fall term, be sure to submit it by the May 1 National Candidates Reply Date to reserve your space in the incoming first-year class.
First-year students admitted to the spring semester should submit their deposit at you.usc.edu between June 1 and August 1.
Transfer students should submit their deposit through youSC by June 1, or within two weeks of receiving their admission letter.

Is it possible to switch majors prior to enrollment?
