    Tianjin, China, my birth place and living city has always attracted me with her diverse cultures which endow me with rich cultural background. I remember during my childhood, I was very curious about different styles of buildings, when walking on the street with my mom. As I grew up, I got to know that among the first cities in China to open international trade, Tianjin has a long cultural history, in which Chinese culture mixes well with that of foreign countries. Here, local people are warm-hearted with mild characteristics and possess optimistic attitude towards life. I am exposed to kind people and rich cultures during two decades, which shapes my positive character and spurs me to explore further in this wonderful world.
    
    Though I have been to a lot of places of interests in China and got close to different cultures, I still love my hometown the most, especially appealing to Xiangsheng (translated as crosstalk), a traditional Chinese comedic performance in the form of a dialogue between two or more performers, or only one person. I enjoy appreciating such funny and pleasurable art and sometimes would have a try with my friends to perform in the party or some special ceremonies. Humor, puns and allusions in its language abound in crosstalk, fully presenting the extensive and profound significance of Chinese language. If I were admitted, I wish to bring this amazing art to your school and enrich student’s activities so as to achieve cultural communication to some extent.
    
    If my hometown’s “personality” helps me cultivate my own disposition, then four-year undergraduate education in Tianjin University equips me with firm professional background, which makes me ready for my advanced studies for Master’s degree in communication. Demanding and challenging courses provide me with access to fundamental knowledge. Meanwhile, practical opportunities either in school project or internship sharpen my professional skills. As the famous saying from Book of Rites goes, “The more a man learns, the more he sees his ignorance”, my passion for knowledge and enthusiasm to unknown domain encouraged me to go forward to improve myself in an all-round way.
    
    At present, I stand ready for further study. Sincerely I hope to enter into your program, listening to academic instructions from outstanding professors and communicating with students from different countries. I am willing to explore my unpredictable but promising future, and keep on writing the beautiful story of my life.
