Yet, there were only 23% people above 36 playing electronic games in 2003 in South Korea. According to the second graph, male players overwhelmingly dominated the electronic game market (72%), which was more than two times as much as that of the female. In the best games types, action was the most popular, accounting for the highest proportion of 43%, while sports ranked NO. 2 with the proportion of 20%. Education, role playing and other types constituted the minority part in the best selling game types (37% collectively). Overall, players under 35, most of whom were male, made up the highest proportion of electronic games in South Korea in 2003, and action enjoyed the highest popularity among various game types. |

參考范文 | 原創(chuàng)范文 In many countries, it is not uncommon that depriving the freedom of criminals as punishment. Yet, some argue providing better education may be a more effective solution. As far as I am concerned, I disagree with the abovementioned statement, as both education and imprisonment are effective in terms of preventing potential crimes, while prisoning criminals also exerts positive effects in terms of fairness and deterrent effects. To begin with, offering better education strengthens individuals’ competitive edge which consequently increases their job opportunities. This measure, from a long-term perspective, will effectively lower the criminal rate, as lower unemployment rate tends to cause higher criminal rates. Furthermore, good moral education helps people, especially the young, to develop upright moral values such as honesty, fairness and respect for others. Most importantly, they will learn how to tell right from wrong. Therefore, education plays a paramount role in preventing crimes. Besides proper education, prisoning is also effective to nip crimes in bud. Imprisoning criminals for what they have committed shows a powerful deterrent against potential crimes. Deprived of freedom, on the other hand, most of them may be remorseful for their previous actions, which could decrease the future reoffending rate. Also, punishing criminals for malicious acts according to the law shows judicial fairness for victims. From what we have discussed above, it is safe to conclude that the crucial role of education for prevention of crimes is undeniable, and it also benefits teenagers who cannot tell right from wrong. Meanwhile, prison also shows its effectiveness in the aspects including deterrence and justice. |
