     interest
    1.interest作及物動(dòng)詞。
    ①interestsb.意為“使某人感興趣,引起某人注意”。如:
    Geographydoesn’tinteresthim.
    地理引不起他的興趣。
    ②interestsb.in(doing)sth.意為“使某人在……方面感興趣”。如:
    Hetriedtointerestmeinbuyingthehouse.
    他想說服我買這所房子。
    2.interest作名詞。
    ①意為“興趣”時(shí),常作不可數(shù)名詞。常見短語show/haveinterestin(doing)sth.,意為“對(duì)……表現(xiàn)出/有興趣”。如:
    Sheshowedgreatinterestinthemeeting.
    她對(duì)這次會(huì)議表現(xiàn)出極大的興趣。
    ②意為“業(yè)余愛好”或“感興趣的事”時(shí),常作可數(shù)名詞。如:
    Hehastwogreatinterests.Oneissportsandtheotherismusic.
    他有兩大愛好:一個(gè)是體育,另一個(gè)是音樂。
    3.interested是形容詞,常用結(jié)構(gòu)beinterestedin(doing)sth.意為“對(duì)(做)……感興趣”,主語是人。如:
    Johnisinterestedinhistory.約翰喜歡歷史。
    Heisinterestedindrawingpictures.
    他對(duì)畫畫感興趣。
    4.interesting也是形容詞,意為“令人感興趣的”,既可以作表語,也可以作定語。如:
    Thestoryisveryinteresting.這個(gè)故事很有趣。
    Thisisaninterestingmovie.這是一部有趣的電影。
