富士山は日本三霊山の１つで、古來信仰の対象として崇められてきました。特に江戸時(shí)代（1603～1867）には、信仰のための登山が盛んに行われています。
その偉大さと美しさはまた、日本の多くの蕓術(shù)家を魅了し、優(yōu)れた作品が殘されています。浮世絵畫家・葛飾北斎には「富嶽三十六景」という優(yōu)れた作品があり、「赤富士」など世界に知られる名作もあります。
