上海世博會的籌備和舉辦全程都貫徹“低碳世博”的環(huán)保理念，光是從世博園內的垃圾分類和變廢為寶舉措就可以看到本屆世博會為環(huán)保做出的努力。

    At the ongoing World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, reporters saw many displays demonstrating all kinds of eco-friendly ways to turn waste into treasure。
    在正在舉行的2010上海世博會上，記者在許多展示中目睹了各種變廢為寶的環(huán)保舉措。
    在上面的報道中，turn waste into treasure就是我們常說的“變廢為寶”。在best urban practice exhibition area(城市實踐展區(qū))，游客們可以看見clear classification of garbage(對垃圾的清晰分類)，各種不同的trash can作用不同，有的是裝food waste的，有的裝glass bottles，有的裝paper and cartons，還有的裝plastic and metal。
    在經過treatment and recycling(處理和回收)后，food waste可以作為fertilizer(肥料)，產生biogas(沼氣)，殘渣可用來鋪路，有些non-recoverable waste(不可回收垃圾)還可以用來發(fā)電。這些展示提供了許多環(huán)保靈感。
    世博園內還有很多環(huán)保設施，例如zero-carbon house(節(jié)能房)、footstep-absorbing floor space(踩踏能量吸收地板)、cork wall(軟木墻板)、air tree(空氣樹)等等。
