    earth.
    I wanted to this because that actually, the adventure is an idea, an idea that is binded
    to my life, with the idea, to discover, to fight, to enjoy, I lived a very exciting life.
    And also, this thing gives my a target, simply, I have to work hard, to learn the needed
    knowledge, to save money to buy the gears.
    I find a purpose on this thing, it keeps me alive, so that’s the thing that I want to do.
    Task 2
    Do you prefer to have several short assignments for a class or one or two long

    For myself, I would say that I prefer to have several short assignments for a class, it is
    because that, for study, I would like to look into different subjects, to have multiple
    choices of the area that I want to research, in this way, I could learn many more thing
    than just focusing on one subject, in the other hand, having several assignments for a
    class has an obvious advantage to help me get a good score, if one of them didn’t
    went well, I can learn from it and improve the others, not like the one long assignment
    that it is the only shot. So, that’s why I like to have several short assignments.
    Task 3
    The university decides to have music performance on every Friday night. And the
    woman thinks that it is cool. First, she can perform on the performance. Second, she
    can practice to be relax on a performance, e.g. talk to the audience. Third, all the
    enrolledstudents may enjoy the performance for free.

    Coffee shop on campus plan to have live music performed by students on Friday nightstarted next month; the store manager believed that student will largely participate inboth performance and attendance for the concert.The female student would like toparticipate playing guitar and singing.     The café in the campus is planning to put on a musician performance on every Friday, themanager believe that this measure is to attract lots of students to participate because that theycould be the performer and the audience both, besides, there is no tickets charge.
    In the conversation, the woman thinks this is great because she herself is a musician, by then,lots of student like her would have an opportunity to perform on a stage, to practice how to relaxin front of the audience and how to use the microphone. What’s more, the concert is totally freeof charge, so there is no need for the students to worry about money, they can just enjoy.Task 4

    Belief perseverance
    有些人hold belief on available information, even though the information is false.閱讀舉例說媽媽告訴小孩天冷穿夾克保暖可以防感冒，可是小孩長大后知道感冒是因?yàn)椴《疽穑墒撬€是會(huì)對自己的孩子說天冷穿夾克，如果孩子問他為什么，他還是會(huì)說可以防感冒。
    Belief perseverance. Believe is based on available information; even the informationis proved to be wrong, people still hold the same belief. i.e. speaker was told by his
     mom that if he does not wear jacket, hat, and gloves in the winter and go outdoors, hewould catch the cold. When he grew up, he understands that winter is least possible tocatch cold because the cold virus, the reason for getting cold, is less in winter.However, he still told his son to wear jacket, hat, and gloves before going out of thehouse.
    The reading passage talks about a theory of belief preference, which means that oncepeople hold on what they believe, it is unlikely for them to change the beliefs evenwhen they acknowledge the fact which can prove there are flaws in their beliefs.In the lecture, the professor gives an example of his own to prove the theory. When hewas young, he was told to keep warm in winter because the cold weather will causehim to catch a cold, later he finds out that it is the cold virus that will cause the illnessyet he still believes that it is necessary for him to keep warm outside in the winter tokeep away from catching a cold, he also tell his children the same thing too.
    Task 5
    The woman has a problem that she planned to go to a ski class on Sunday night, buther cousin telephoned her to visit and to have a dinner together. The man's suggestion:1. ask her cousin if she can change her schedule; 2. (not sure) just attend a part of theski class.

    女生的problem: she plans to go to the ski triporganized by ski club for the entireweekend. However, her cousin will come to town the same weekend and plan to havedinner with her on Saturday evening. She does not want to miss either of it.
    男生的兩個(gè)solution: 1) talk to the cousin directly to see if theycan reschedule thedinner plan to Friday evening, then she can have dinner with the cousin on Friday andgo skiing on both Sat and Sun. But the woman is worried to offend her cousin byrescheduling with her.
    2) She can go to part of the trip. She can havediner with the cousin on Sat evening,and drive to the ski place on Sun. But the woman is concerned that she will not haveenough time to enjoy skiing with the club members.
     The woman in the conversation is facing a time conflict that she planned to take a ski class onSunday night, however, her cousin called her that he would pay her a visit and dine with her. Hisfriend suggests her that she could tell her cousin to visit on Friday, but she thinks that would notbe fair for her cousin, or she can take part of the class and the man can go by himself.
    I suggest that the woman should take the first solution, because that if she came back from the skiclass on Saturday, she might be tired and she won’t take good care of the guest, so neither sidewould be happy, her friend, nor her cousin, besides, I think she could just call her cousin back toexplain the situation very clearly, and I’m sure that he will understand and rearrange the time tosuit for everybodys’ schedule.
    Task 6
    Human’s activities threaten the marine environment. 2. The trees which may hold theshadow are cutting down by people, and the sunshine makes the sea lack of oxygen,so it increases the temperature which makes fishes die.
    關(guān)于人類行為如何影響native fish。第一，人類為了船運(yùn)，連接了好多湖和海，引進(jìn)了新魚群，或大型的海魚，有的會(huì)變成native fish的predator，降低native fish的數(shù)量；第二，改變了湖的溫度。人類為了造房而伐樹，但是本來樹是可以遮陽，從而降低湖水溫度的，低溫的湖水會(huì)帶來更多的氧氣，但是現(xiàn)在氧氣減少了，native fish就會(huì)窒息而死。
    In the lecture, the professor point out that fresh water ecological system has beenchanged due to human activities, which endanger the native fish species by two ways.First, he talks about that by building canals connecting the ocean and the lake wouldintroduce the new species from the ocean to the fresh water system, and therefore, thenew spices could be the natives’ threat.
    Then he points out the environment of the fresh water ecological system which thenative fish need to survive is changed by the human activities, for example. When thetrees around the lake are cut off, there is no more shade covered the water, then thewater will lack in oxygen which the fish need due to the raise of the temperature, andthese could cause the death of the fishes.

    Task 1
    is it beneficial for the student to have computers?
    I believe that computer is becoming more and more important to the student, here are my reasons.
     In 21 century, it is very hard to receive the massive information without a computer, if I need tost
    find information that I need, I might take a hole day, looking for them in lots of places, or I couldjust sit down, google it, download some documents while enjoying a cup of coffee.
    What’s more, now computers are becoming more important with the social network built up, weneed to check our mails, our facebook news and the latest notice published by our schools, it’svery hard to catch up if we don’t have one.
    So, that why I believe that computers are very important for us.
    Task 2

    personally I would be honest always, because of these reasons,
    First, honest, I believe,is one of the most important character of a person, it helps you to build agood reputation among your friends, everybody likes an honest people, so being honest, I can livewith less burden and I will have a good relationship with my friends.
    Second, being honest can make life much more easier, being frankly to people, no fancy words,just tell the honest thought of myself, and by that, misunderstanding is reduced,
    Task 3
    cleanup day 學(xué)校要招volunteers 分成幾個(gè)小組給學(xué)校做衛(wèi)生，這一天結(jié)束后有個(gè)party，給大家用餐。
    lecture：男的positive attitude 1.他覺得這樣不僅對當(dāng)天有好處，對將來的環(huán)境也好，volunteer的同學(xué)看到他們這么做也就不會(huì)亂仍東西了 2.結(jié)束后開個(gè)party很好，可以attract students，并且encourage 大家。
    The school is planning to encourage student to volunteer to clean the school, and after the cleaning,there will be a party and everybody will enjoy supper together.
    In the conversation, the man agree with the school’s idea, he thinks that it will not only make itone good day, but have a longer effect on the future, that when people see there work, litters willreduce and therefore environment will be protected, also, he thinks that it is great to have a partyto reward the students taken part in the cleaning because it can encourage the people and attractstudents to take part.
    Task 4

    The man is going to perform in an opera of Shakespear tomorrow, however, his partner catches acold and will not able to perform with him, this show is very important because the result of theshow will be part of the grade, the woman gives him 2 possible solutions, he can go talk to theprofessor about the situation to rearrange the time schedule, so he can wait for his partner torecover and perform together, or he can ask his partner to perform anyway.
    Personally, I believe the man should go talk to the professor because I’m sure the professor willunderstand the man’s situation an change the time ofthe show, besides, even if his partner performwith him, the quality of the show will be lower, and the grades won’t be good of course.Task 6

    版本2：兩種social group。一個(gè)是有互動(dòng)，例如大象群，其中一個(gè)病了，其他大象會(huì)照顧它。另一種group沒互動(dòng)，例如魚群，他們不但沒互動(dòng)，甚至彼此都不能識(shí)別。
    In the lecture, the professor talks about the two kinds of social group of animal,The first one is the group with interaction, he then gives an example of the group ofthe elephants, if one of them is sick, the others will help it.
    The second one is the group without interaction, he gives an example as well, thefishes, not only they don’t have interaction, but they hardly know each other.

    1、describe one way of life in your country has been changed and why it is beneficial
     I think one the change in China is the usage of the internet. I remember the figure ofthe internet user in China in 2000 was only 50 million. But, surprisingly, this figurehas soared to 500 million with only ten years. Actually, the internet brings manychanges in people’s life in every aspect. For example, almost each university libraryin China has equipped with the internet. It is helpful for students’ study. They can findmore information faster than ever. Another example is the usage of internet in sociallife. People now in China are using internet to send emails, chat on-line, and theyeven find a blind date on internet.
    2、你傾向于什么時(shí)候完成事情：是喜歡剛開始就準(zhǔn)備還是到了due day 才開始準(zhǔn)備，原因
    I prefer preparing in advance.
    First, I am a well-organized person. So if I have a plan, it takes time for me to prepareeverything before it happens. I think this is helpful especially when I have many otherworks to do at the same time. If I prepare first, I would feel less stressful.
    Second, if I prepare first, I can have time to cope with the emergency. For example, Ionce wrote an essay for my history class with my laptop, but my laptop just brokewhen I was about to finish that paper. So I had to rewrite that essay, and it wasfrustrating.

    In the dialogue, the woman disagrees with reading passage which states that theuniversity requires the new students to participate in the study discussion group. Shestates two reasons for her idea.
    First, she thinks that many of the new students have already learned some learningskills, so it would be waste of time for them to take part in the discussion group.Second, she thinks that the students will become friends finally because they study inthe same class. So it is unnecessary for them to make friends with each other by thediscussion group.

    5 男生因?yàn)榘峒覀撕蟊?，所以想換個(gè)工作，原來是在書店搬運(yùn)重物到書架。兩個(gè)選擇：1）繼續(xù)留在書店當(dāng)收銀員，但是會(huì)和他的study meeting時(shí)間上有沖突
    2）是去cafeteria 洗盤子，但是錢少。
    The man has a problem that he wants to change another job because he hurt his backwhen working in the book store. There are two solutions for him.
    First, he can still work in the shop but play as a receptionist there. Second, he can finda job in acafeteria and wash the dishes there.
    Personally, I prefer the first one. I think he has already hurt his back, so it would getworse if he washes dishes, which is very exhausting. Besides, I think he can talk tothe boss about his working schedule so thathe can avoid the time conflict with hisstudy meeting.
    6、社會(huì)的穩(wěn)定性由兩種形式形成，一是人們從事同一個(gè)種類的工作，這樣大家有共同的作息時(shí)間，共同的關(guān)注點(diǎn)等；另一個(gè)是從事不同種類的工作，做出不同的貢獻(xiàn)，人們相互依賴，從而形成穩(wěn)定性。
    In the lecture, the professor talks about the two forms in which the society keepsstable.
    The first form he introduces is that people in a society can do the same kind of job. Bydoing so, they can share the same working schedule and share the same interest at thesame time.
    The second for he introduces is that people can do the different kinds of job. By doingso, people can rely on each other because they make different contributions to thesociety.

    For myself, I’d like to say that in school, I like to go to the students’ club a lot, it is alittle place consisting a small pub, a meeting room, and a basement.
     I like to go there because it is the that makes me feel home, I have a lot of friends inschool and whenever we don’t have class, or in the weekend, we can get united, havesome food together, chatting around, it’s really relaxing.
    What’s more, it is the HQ of our student council, lots of important decisions weremade there.

    I don’t agree with it, of course that if an artist has a good talent, he might create a realpiece of work, but I believe that for those that are now quite gifted, they can also begreat artists by working much harder.
    I think that the talent isjust a feeling, and those genius are just more sensitive thanothers, so that they can express what they feel very well, we are all creations of nation,I believe if we try to, we can do as well as those genius.
    Besides, now there are various of art courses that people can take, after some essentiallessons and practice, everybody can be an artist.
    3,一個(gè)學(xué)生給的提議，說學(xué)校地上垃圾多，張貼畫也臟，多。提議學(xué)生組成volunteer,分組拾垃圾。聽力中兩個(gè)學(xué)生討論，一個(gè)女生就不同意，她說：臟要看情況，我們學(xué)校這么大，人這么多。剛掃干凈，又會(huì)有垃圾，張貼畫，你撕了人家再貼，也是一樣的，而且學(xué)生到學(xué)校是學(xué)習(xí)的，不是做志愿者的。真要干凈校園，學(xué)校要雇人，花錢叫專人來干。
    A student is making a proposal that there are lots of wastes in the school and theposters are too much, and students should volunteer to clean up the campus.
    In the conversation, the girl doesn’t think that it is a good idea and she has tworeasons.
    First, she thinks that the school is too big with a large sum people, the wastes wouldappear right after the cleaning.
    Second, the students are here to study, not to take part to in the volunteers if there issomebody should do the job, they are to be hired outside the school.

    In the conversation, one student sad he left very hasty this morning that he had atrouble with his document, the other one suggests that he can do it again, butjim saidhe needs to go to another computer and the class is about to begin, and he must gotalk to the professor.
     I think the best way is to go print the document again, because that though the class isabout to begin and he can’t reach on time, but whenhe show up, he can explain toeverybody, that I think people would understand, for this thing do happen, what’ more,if the documents are needed in the class, and he didn’t get it, what’s the point inreaching the class on time?

    I would like to say that I am a mountain hiker, and I have learned some essential skills,like how do use the gear, how to find some food in the wild, but I still need toimprove myself to be professional.
    I order todo so, I think that first of all, I need to learn the theory, by reading lotsbooks, watch some show on national geography channels, talk to some pros.
    And, the most Important things is, practice, I will go out a lot, see my body get wellexercised, and gain some experience.
    2同意不同意廣告對人們的有影響
    I agree with the statement that advertisement will affect people, I agree because ofthese two reasons.
    It is said that people tend to believe whatever they are told, that they learn what theadvertisement tell, like if the ad says the products are nice, people will get the idea intheir subconcious, just like inception.
    What’s more, the ad provides informations that people need, if a person saw an ad of acertain kind of wine, he might think that it is what he needs, so he might buy it.3 閱讀說學(xué)校對theatre專業(yè)的有新要求take a trip off campus，看專業(yè)的product，要花35元。女的問男的態(tài)度，男的很歡迎，說對理解有幫助，花錢也不多，花3次的錢可以看免費(fèi)的。

    In the conversation, the man is very happy for the announcement, he thinks that it ishelpful for the understanding for the theatre
    4文章講一個(gè)概念impact of bias， 第一會(huì)影響人的決定，另外如果發(fā)生其他不同的事件會(huì)讓人recovery，聽力以他女兒為例是高中學(xué)生，因?yàn)樗芏嗤瑢W(xué)在一個(gè)學(xué)校，聽說那個(gè)學(xué)校教育好，她就很想去，但后沒去成，她很難過，但當(dāng)她度了一個(gè)summer vacation，她又不難過，決定去另外一個(gè)學(xué)校。
    The reading material introduced a principle, impact of bias, it wil have an effect onpeople to make their decision, and in the lecture, the instructor gives am example ofhis daughter that she is a high school student, lots of her classmates are in a school,she heard that it is a good school, so she want to attend to that school, but in the end,she failed to, she was sad but when she had a summer vacation, she was not sadanymore, she decided to go to another school
    5 一個(gè)學(xué)生鑰匙拉在宿舍，他的歷史課的paper也在房間，歷史課還有兩個(gè)小時(shí)開始，他自己提出兩個(gè)方法，一個(gè)找教授談?wù)?，女的說也許教授能理解，但男的上次的paper也推遲交，這次又推遲，會(huì)讓老師覺得他不是個(gè)責(zé)任感強(qiáng)的人，另外一個(gè)方法找管理員開門，時(shí)間還充裕但是得花錢。
    The student left his key at the dorm room, and his paper of the history as well, thereare two hours left until the history class, so he came up with two ideas, first, he can gotalk to the professor, and his friend thinks that it is acceptable to the professor, but thelast paper of him is delayed as well, he think that he should find somebody to open thedoor for him however that cost money.
    In my view,he should take the second solution, I think that he understands that hisreputation worth much more then a few bucks, I think that he can’t let the professordown again, if he hand over his paper right on time, he would give his professor agood imression
    6兩種不能在水里呼吸的動(dòng)物如何在水里捕食（講陸地生物怎么對付水下缺氧的辦法），一個(gè)是降低body function，降低心率減少需氧量（在水底靜止不動(dòng)少消耗氧氣等待獵物游過來），提到一個(gè)動(dòng)物為例，忘了，另外一個(gè)辦法是減少呆在水下的時(shí)間，一種鳥盤旋在水上，看見魚后迅速潛入水中（向水里俯沖迅速捕魚），身上的皮膚好像有一個(gè)功能阻止離地太遠(yuǎn)。

     什么了==）它在stay still，等著有魚過來，這樣就reduce對oxygen的消耗；第二種是減少在水里呆著的時(shí)間，有一種 brown 什么的鳥兒，現(xiàn)在天上飛著，看見魚就dive down，然后它們有個(gè)特殊的功能還是器官什么的，能讓它們不那么快浮上來(這個(gè)聽的不是特別清楚><)

    Some students prefer to take a essay question where they must write an essay to aquestion. Other students prefer to take a test with objective questions. Which type ofexam question do you prefer? Give reasons and examples in your explanation.Personally, I prefer writing an essay to a question. The reason is that I think studentscan learn more skills of the independent thinking skill from an essay. It means youhave to collect the materials, organize it and then express it in your own words. Thewhole processes can enhance one’s learning skills. Take myself for example, I ammajored in literature. So actually, there is no write answer about a specific questionand it means nothing if you just memorize something.     Personally, I’d pick an essay, I think the quality of an essay can represent the student’s

    First, writing an essay requires a long-term work, the researching, thinking, analyzingtakes time to finish, it is easy to find whether the student take their time on studying.Second, it’s convenient for the students, if somebody got sick on their test day, all thehard work he paid is gone, or , if somebody cheats during the test, it’s unfair for theothers.
    Above all, I think to take an essay is a better way.

    Well, I’m very proud to say that his holiness Dalai Lama is my model, the charactershe has which attract me most are these two: faith, and compassion.
