Tracy: Li, your shoes are gorgeous. Are they new? 莉，你的鞋子美極了，是新的嗎？
Li: Yes. I had to buy them. 這雙鞋挺貴的，不過可以搭配很多不同種類的衣服。
Tracy: I can see why you bought them. Those kitten heels are perfect for work and partying. 我知道你為什么要買它了，因為這種中跟鞋很適合工作和參加舞會的時候穿。
Li: Why do people call them kitten heels? 為什么人們稱之為中跟女鞋？
Tracy: Honestly, I don't know. They just do. Perhaps it's because they are as cute as a kitten. 老實說，我不知道。它們還行。也許是因為它們像小貓一樣可愛。
Li: 和小貓一樣可愛。那么女鞋中的 kitten heel 和 stiletto heel 比起來都有哪些區(qū)別呢？
Tracy: That's a good question. They are both types of high-heeled shoe. A stiletto is a tall, slim-heeled shoe. 這是一個好問題。那種鞋都是又細又高的樣子。
Li: A stiletto 是鞋跟又高又細的高跟鞋。
Tracy: They are usually considered to be quite sexy. 它們通常被認為非常性感。
Li: Ok, and a kitten heel? 好吧，那中跟的呢？
Tracy: A kitten heel is a shoe with slightly shorter heel. The heels are usually no more than a couple of inches tall.

Tracy: Exactly.確實是。

Tracy: Nowadays, women wear all different types of shoes. They might wear kitten heels or stilettos or another type of shoe to work. 現(xiàn)在女人穿不同的鞋。她們可能穿中跟的或者又高又細的或者其他樣子的鞋去上班。
Li: What do you prefer to wear: kitten heels or stilettos? 你更喜歡那種鞋，是中跟的還是又高又細的？
Tracy: That's a tough one. I'm quite short so I often wear stilettos, although I think kitten heels are more comfortable. 不好說。我個子不是很高所以我經(jīng)常穿又高又細的鞋，盡管我覺得中跟的更舒服些。
