1. A:Which do you like better, orange or lemon?
    A:橘子和檸檬你更喜歡哪個？
    B:I like orange better.
    B:我更喜歡橘子.
    詢問某人比較喜歡什么，也就是asking what someone prefers，我們可以用like sth better，better是更好的意思，用一個比較級來表達偏愛是很實用的。
    2.A:How do Mark and Jones compare,in your opinion?
    A:在你看來，和瓊斯相比馬克怎么樣？
    B:Generally speaking,Mark's personality is much more agreeable than Jones
    B:總的看來，我認為馬克比瓊斯性格更讓人喜歡。
    在這里用到了How do……compare,in your opinion?這個句型，表示…和…相比怎么樣，是一種比較正式的說法。這個時候我們用到than這個詞，than作為介詞是寧愿，含有比較的意思在里面sth is more+adj+than也是很常用的用于偏愛的句型。
    3.A: It is a beautiful day. Would you like to take a walk?
    A:今天天氣真好，你愿意出去散步嗎？
    B: No, I’d rather stay at home than go out.
    B:不，我寧愿呆在家里也不愿出去散步。
    這句話的重點落在了would rather do than do上面
    (1)rather than與would連用時，構(gòu)成“would rather...than...”句式，意思是“寧愿……而不愿……”，表示主觀愿望，即在兩者之中選擇其一。
    eg:She'd rather die than lose the children.她寧愿死也不愿失去孩子們。
    (2)使用would rather…than…句型時要注意“平行結(jié)構(gòu)”，即在than的前后要用兩個同類的詞或詞組，如兩個名詞、兩個不定式、兩個介詞短語等。
    eg:I would rather go to work by bike than by bus.我寧愿騎自行車也不愿乘公共汽車去上班。
    (3)在疑問句式中，would rather與would rather…than…中的would要放在主語之前:
    eg: Would you rather stay here or go home?你愿意呆在這里，還是回家？
    3.A: I think during the holidays you can stay at home reading novels.
    A:我想在假期里你可以呆在家里看小說了。
    B: I prefer doing something useful outside to staying at home reading.
    B:我寧愿到外面干點有益的事，好過呆在家里看小說。
    在這段對話中，重點注意prefer這個單詞
    (1)prefer A to B (AB皆為名詞)
    eg:I prefer the blue ball to the black ball.我更喜歡藍色球而不喜歡黑色球.
    (2)prefer doing A to doing B=would rather do A than do B=like doing A better than doing B
    eg:I prefer walking to running.我更喜歡走路而不喜歡跑步.
    3.prefer to do A(沒有比較，只做一件事的就用這個）=would rather do A
    eg:I prefer to sing.我更喜歡唱歌。
