    李白是唐朝有名的詩(shī)人。據(jù)說(shuō)他年輕的時(shí)候，讀書(shū)進(jìn)步得很慢，他心里就不耐煩起來(lái)。有一天，他出門去玩兒，看見(jiàn)一個(gè)老婆婆蹲在小溪旁邊，拿著一根鐵棒在石頭上磨。李白覺(jué)得很奇怪，就問(wèn)：“老婆婆，你這是干什么？”老婆婆頭也不回，一邊磨她的鐵棒，一邊回答說(shuō)：“我在磨繡花針！”李白更奇怪了，又問(wèn)：“這么粗的鐵棒，能磨成繡花針嗎？”老婆婆說(shuō)：“我今天磨，明天磨，鐵棒只會(huì)越磨越細(xì)，哪怕它磨不成繡花針！”李白聽(tīng)了老婆婆的話，心里像開(kāi)了竅。他從此刻苦用功，果然成了一個(gè)很有文才的人。
    “磨杵成針”就是從這個(gè)故事來(lái)的。這個(gè)成語(yǔ)說(shuō)明只要下苦功夫，一定能得到成功。所以常有人說(shuō)：“只要功夫深，鐵杵磨成針?！?
