加拿大國際政治專業(yè)是政治學(xué)的一個(gè)分支，是揭示國際社會(huì)中各種國際政治行為主體之間的政治關(guān)系及其發(fā)展變化的一般規(guī)律的一門學(xué)科。其內(nèi)容分四個(gè)層次：國際社會(huì)、行為主體、政治關(guān)系、一般規(guī)律。它是國際社會(huì)和國際交往發(fā)展到一定階段的產(chǎn)物，在一戰(zhàn)后才作為一個(gè)獨(dú)立學(xué)科在社會(huì)科學(xué)領(lǐng)域占有一席之地。它也是一門交叉學(xué)科，包括國際關(guān)系理論、國際關(guān)系史、當(dāng)代國際政治問題三個(gè)基本成分，對(duì)國際政治有重要指導(dǎo)作用。其主要流派有理想主義學(xué)派、現(xiàn)實(shí)主義學(xué)派、新現(xiàn)實(shí)主義學(xué)派等。
